At Life by Durands, you will have a dedicated Proposal Planner, with many years of experience, guiding the creative direction, location, timing, logistics, suppliers and emotional details that shape the proposal.
Can I plan a proposal in Portugal from another country?
A.Yes. Most of our couples are travelling to Portugal from abroad, and the entire planning process can happen online. We guide you through the experience remotely, from choosing the right location to preparing you for the proposal day.
How far in advance should I book?
A.Most proposal experiences are booked between six months and one week in advance. We have also successfully planned proposals with only a few hours’ notice, although these come with certain limitations. As we handle a limited number of proposals per day and some dates fill up quickly, we strongly recommend booking as early as possible, especially for popular dates, sunset timings, private venues, musicians, boats or more personalized concepts.
What happens if it rains?
A.When weather may affect the proposal, we closely monitor the forecast and proactively contact you to guide the best possible decision. We remain flexible and, when agreed in advance, adjustments to timing or date can be made without additional cost. Depending on the experience, this may include adapting the setup or activating a suitable backup plan, always ensuring the moment feels seamless and special.
Can you keep the proposal a surprise?
A.Yes. Surprise coordination is one of the most important parts of our work. We plan the timing, arrival instructions, photographer positioning and behind-the-scenes details so the proposal feels natural and your partner can enjoy the moment without suspecting what is about to happen. We also guide you on how to keep the secret and how to behave to avoid raising suspicion. Our communication is discreet, and we never call you unless you have explicitly requested it.
Do you offer photography and videography?
A.Yes. Hidden photography is available for all the proposal experiences, and we offer different video options depending on the experience. Some include a professional videographer, while others use iPhone video captured discreetly by the photographer. Drone footage can also be included when conditions and location allow. Our goal is to capture the reaction naturally, without interrupting the emotion of the moment.
